Review: OK, I'll be honest, it isn't the worst dish, but it isn't the healthiest dish. That said it is really good! The problems are the high sodium and sugar content. We thought this was an easy dish to prepare and loved the flavor, I'll probably play around with it to make it a little healthier. Try looking for low sodium fish sauce, there is a wide range of sodium content, and try using a little less brown sugar.
One of the ingredients is Fish Sauce, don't let ingredients like this scare you away from a recipe. Most of the time ingredients like this can be found in your local grocery, so they are easy to find and use, plus they add tons of flavor.
Take your time cooking the shallots, it will add to the flavor. When it's time to add the sauce and chicken set you heat high and let everything brown to get that nice caramelization, it makes all the difference in flavor.
My husband and son already announced that we should have this again. I have to agree.
Enjoy!
